Macadamia Style Extend Dry Shampoo | Review

Beauty, Reviews

I finally found a dry shampoo that I actually really like and that actually does the job it’s supposed to do!! Macadamia Style Extend Dry Shampoo!!! New Fave! <3

Brand claims:

Extend the life of your hairstyle with a translucent dry shampoo designed to absorb oil and product build-up. Hair is left feeling clean, revived and full of body.

• Absorbs excess oil, product build-up and odor
• Instantly refreshes hair, leaving it looking and feeling clean and fresh
• Blends with all hair colors, leaving no powdery residue
• Finish – Natural

• Macadamia Oil – Omega 7, 5 and 3 fatty acids provide weightless moisture
• Argan Oil – Omega 9 fatty acid repairs and strengthens
• Rice & Potato Starches – Absorbs excess oils & purifies hair

My Opinion:

Macadamia Dry Shampoo 100 % does everything described above. This is the first dry shampoo I’ve ever tried that I don’t have any complaints about (oh, that’s a lie)…one complaint – Price. It’s kind of expensive for a dry shampoo, but I’m closing my eyes on the price, because this dry shampoo is really good and totally worth every penny!! I’ve tried a lot of dry shampoos, but I never had a favorite one or even one that I wanted to try twice. I know a lot of girls like Batiste dry shampoo, but I’m not a fan of it, I didn’t like the smell of it and it always left residue on my hair, my hair never felt clean after using it, I tried Pssst, but I always had a white cast on my hair after using it, I also tried Not Your Mother Dry Shampoo – didn’t like it (you can read my review here). But let’s focus on Macadamia Dry Shampoo now. When I bought it I had high expectations, because it’s a really good brand, and because it costs $25. “You better work”, I thought when I hit “Checkout now” button 🙂 And it did, it works really great on my black hair. No white cast, no unclean feeling in my hair, smells good, absorbs the oil, and freshens up the hair in general. So I would definitely recommend you guys try it.

How to use: Shake can well. Spray 10 -12 inches from hair, targeting the roots. Wait a minute, then brush or work lightly into hair. Style as desired.

You really want to stick with the directions on how to use it. Don’t spray it too close to your hair. I know we think that the closer we spray, the more product we get in a specific area where we want the oil to be absorbed etc., but it can leave white cast if you do that, because of too much concentration on one area, instead keep the bottle at least 8 to 10 inches away, don’t worry you will still get the results needed.

Price: $25

Size: 5 oz

Where to buy: Ulta,

How often do you use dry shampoo? And which one is your favorite?

Drugstore Nail Polish Removers vs. ZOYA

Beauty, Reviews

I never gave a second thought to nail polish removers that I used to use. I thought they were all kind of the same, but as it turned out  not all nail polishes are made equal. I recently tried Zoya Nail Polish Remover, and it was an eye-opening experience 🙂 Seriously, I was surprised at how easy it took off my nail polish. It easily removes any nail polish, even the most glittery ones. And bonus: it doesn’t smell bad.

The 3-in-1 formula removes nail polish, nourishes nails and fortifies the nail plate for guaranteed extended polish wear. But even if the only thing it did was removing nail polish, I’d still recommend it.  Continue reading “Drugstore Nail Polish Removers vs. ZOYA”

Gift Ideas For Her

Beauty, Everything else, Fashion, NEWS, Photography

This is the last post in the series of “Gift Guide” posts (Check out “11 Unique & Affordable Gift Ideas For Any Occasion”  and “Gifts that HE will actually use”). This is one is probably the easiest for me to write, since I’m a girl and girls know what other girls want… 🙂 So many stores make it so easy to choose a gift for a woman by making gift sets and gift guides. Plus, there are gifts that will never get old, like: jewelry, skin care, flowers, perfumes… It’s because every woman needs these things in her life… And there is absolutely nothing wrong if you want to stick with those gifts, but if you’re tired of getting the same kind of gifts every year, this list might be for you:

The Truth About Zofran

Health/Body, Maternity/Baby, NEWS, Reviews

I have been recently contacted by asking me to get the word out on the dangers of a drug called Zofran. Many pregnant women are familiar with this drug since it’s prescribed to help with nausea and vomiting, but not many of us know about birth defects that Zofran can cause to a baby.

I’m usually against any medications in general, just because you never know the whole truth about any of them, I don’t want to endanger myself and especially my baby to any side effects. Thank God both of my pregnancies were good and I didn’t have bad morning sickness at all, I was prescribed Zofran once when I was pregnant with my second baby just in case my morning sickness got worse, and I waited as long as I could, not to take this medicine. But towards the end of my first trimester, I felt really sick and I took one, it helped. Luckily, the next day my morning sickness was gone, and I didn’t have to take more of it. But if I knew then what I know about Zofran now, I wouldn’t take it at all.

I’m not a doctor or medical worker, and I won’t ask you to solemnly rely on just this article, but I will ask you to do your own research on this drug before you take it, talk to your OBGYN as well. I read many articles about Zofran some say that the risk is minimal (but the risk is still there), some are completely against this medication to be prescribed to pregnant women. Here are the highlights about Zofran ↓

REVIEW: Micellar Water Simple vs. Bioderma

Beauty, Reviews

Micellar waters are becoming more and more popular, especially in Europe (for some reason). Here is just a short review of two micellar water that are famous here in US. One is by Simple, and another on by Bioderma.

In other words, micellar water is a cleansing water that removes makeup. It looks just a regular fragrance, no foam..and the best thing you don’t have to rinse your face after using it..

Bioderma Micellar Water.

  • Great for sensitive skin
  • Comes in different sizes: 3.3 oz, 8.4 oz. 16.91 oz
  • Removes waterproof makeup
  • Removes lip stains (with a little effort, but still does the job)
  • A little hard to find in US (links to where you can find it below)

Price: 3.3 oz – $14, 8.4 oz – $17, 16.91 oz – $24

Where to find: Amazon (3.3 oz, 8.4 oz, 16.91 oz)

Simple Micellar Water.

  • You need to use a lot of this water to remove makeup
  • A little bit harsh
  • Easy to find
  • Removes waterproof makeup, but again you will need a lot of it
  • Can dry your skin

Price: $6

Where to find: Amazon

How I use it:

I use it on lazy days when I absolutely don’t want to use cleansers and foams and wash my face. On usual days I remove my makeup with cleanser, and I use micellar water as a toner, and just to make sure that I remove all my makeup. And then I follow with a serum or cream..

Have you tried micellar water? Which one would you recommend?
