House Makeover | Before & After

Dallas, Texas, DIY/How to, Everything else, Family, Lifestyle

I’m finally posting before and after photos of our house makeover!!

We’ve recently moved to our new house and still in the process of unpacking the boxes (can’t wait to be done with that). We bought the house in February and we fell in love with it at first glance. We love everything about it: the layout, the size of the rooms, the fact that it’s a one-story house, and it has everything we want our perfect house to have including the backyard and of course, the pool (it’s Texas for God’s sake :-)).

It’s our first family house and first time to do any kind of remodeling. We were very excited to begin the process and to choose the paint colors, tile, appliances etc. It was very fun (more fun at the beginning than at the end lol), but it was also very overwhelming at the same time…we even had to choose the color of the grout (yes, I didn’t even think there were so many options of grout colors :-)).

We made all of our choices and then I began to worry if it would look good when it was all set and done. I didn’t want to pay more just to change and redo something that I chose myself at the first place.

Even though we wanted our house to look beautiful we were also trying to make practical choices like we made an office room instead of having a formal dining room because we need an office space since I work from home, and we can always have big dinners in the kitchen area.

Here are several Before and After photos. And below you will also find a Before/After Video + the fun process of remodeling.

This is the kitchen. The kitchen cabinets are real wood, so we decided to just paint them white instead of completely changing them since the quality is really good. We changed the floors, countertops, backsplash, sink and appliances.

Monday Vlog: Remodeling Our New House

Dallas, Texas, Family, Lifestyle

These couple of weeks I’m planning on editing all the footage up to date, and I’m going to upload all of them on our family channel .

Here are two recent videos that I already uploaded:

This one is Day In The Life video (at Children’s Park). The Dallas Arboretum park is absolutely gorgeous any time of the year, and it’s probably our favorite park for family activities in Dallas.

And in the second video ↓ you will see a sneak peak of our {before} master bathroom. It’s a part 1 of the remodeling, when we’re excited about choosing all the materials, and appliances, color paints.

Monday Vlog: Signed The Papers

Dallas, Texas, Family, Lifestyle

On February 25, 2016, we finally signed all the papers on the house. AND THE HOUSE IS OFFICIALLY OURS!!!We couldn’t be more excited! We were looking for our perfect house for a while now, and this house has everything we wanted and is in the location we really wanted to live in! It does need to be updated and remodeled (we are doing it now, and we are moving in 1 week or so), which means we will love it even more 🙂

We also shopped for new appliances, and the best deals we found were at Nebraska Furniture Mart, they offer 18-30 months financing and they do price match.

I’m definitely going to do a before and after video of the house, and trust me you will want to see it!! So stay tuned for that video and subscribe either to this blog or to our family channel not to miss it!

March Currently

Dallas, Texas, Everything else, Family, Lifestyle, Thoughts

Hi everyone, and welcome to my new series of monthly posts “Currently”. At the end of every month, I’m going to share with you what I’m up to, exciting news, obsessions etc.

So this month I have been:

Reminded of how important it is to live right here right the moment, and not when the weather gets better, a house is bigger, next month, or when you have more money. I’ve been reminded of that happiness is a state of mind and doesn’t depend on the circumstances (you might think it does, but it doesn’t).

Reading articles and posts on Facebook and Google. Just news, tips on parenting, articles that catch my eyes.  I would be glad to read an actual book, but I don’t really have much time for it these days. The last book I read was “Me Before You” and it was several months ago. It’s a really great book, and I can’t wait to see the movie which is coming out in June.

Watching. Usually, Daniel and I have date (movie) nights on Saturday and Sunday after we put kids to bed. And this month we watched all 3 parts of IpMan, Joy, War Room and Deadpool. Great movies! Deadpool is my least favorite from the list! It doesn’t have a deep meaning to it, but nevertheless, it was fun to watch, it’s definitely very different movie, and if you haven’t seen it you you should watch all the movies that I mentioned above 🙂

Enjoying double date night with our friends. We had a dinner at our favorite Thai restaurant, and then went to Karaoke place, came home at 2:30 am. No kids, just adults, and it felt GREAT!!! (and I don’t even feel guilty for saying this lol). We had a really great time singing Karaoke, and I would share the video with you, but it’s just too private LOL.. I posted a short 15 sec video on Instagram though. By the way, are you as excited as I am about a new Instagram update? 1 min video instead of 15 sec!!!  Continue reading “March Currently”

Monday Vlog: Family Fun At The Zoo

Dallas, Texas, Family, Lifestyle

Our second try to go to the Zoo was a success!! It wasn’t super warm, but we couldn’t wait to get there and see the animals, ride a horse, feed the birds… And Christian loves going to the zoo so much, we didn’t want to tell him no 🙂

Besides going to the zoo, we had dinner with friends, playdates, David’s 6 months checkup, and don’t miss Christian’s singing (one of his favorite songs is “Thinking out loud” by Ed Sheeran) in this vlog!

Moody Family Children’s Museum

Dallas, Texas, Family, Lifestyle

If you’re planning to visit Dallas (with or without kids) definitely check out the Perot Museum! We love this place! And Christian (my 2 y.o) loves to have fun at Moody Family Children’s museum (located inside the Perot Museum). It’s big and there are so many things to do! He can spend the whole day there and not get bored. I like this place because it’s not just a playground for kids, it’s a discovery museum, where they can learn different things, explore and have a great time at the same time!

Moody Family Children’s Museum is divided into different sections:

Miniature Dallas Farmer’s Market

Here kids can pretend play. They can wear aprons and pretend that they’re farmers picking different produce, loading/unloading the truck or they can pretend that their truck drivers etc.

Here they can explore nature, plants, and it even has displays with real bugs and insects..
