Second Pregnancy: TTC to 13 week

Lifestyle, Maternity/Baby

Week 10

Week 7

Week 9

And here is my first pregnancy post of my second pregnancy! Let’s start from the very beginning: from TTC to 13th week. I planned to write every week, but I didn’t feel good during my first trimester, so I couldn’t. That’s why I decided to just describe my first 13 weeks in one post. This post will be long, so if you decide to read it to the end, just get comfortable, make yourself a cup of good tea and let’s begin 🙂 (I hope I won’t miss any details). (Or you can watch my pregnancy vlogs week by week ↑, I uploaded two of them, and I’m working on editing the others) The reasons why we wanted a second baby so close in age with Christian I described few posts back. But now I’ll tell you everything from the very beginning.

We were trying to conceive since July 2014, have a baby in April 2015, and go back to my country in June 2015 for my dad’s birthday. Our plan failed. As it turned out, it was difficult to get pregnant, when you’re still nursing. We kind of knew that, but we were still hoping that we would get pregnant. But I didn’t want to stop nursing, just because I wanted to get pregnant. My plan from the very beginning was to nurse at least till Christian was 1 year old. In October, when Christian turned 1, I realized that it’s difficult to wean him…emotionally difficult..and then he got sick and of course I continue to breastfeed. When he got better I dropped daytime feeding, and instead of nursing him 4 times a day, I started to nurse him 3 times a day. In one week after that I dropped one more feeding. (I will write about how I completely weaned him soon! Look out for that post). Continue reading “Second Pregnancy: TTC to 13 week”

Pregnancy Announcement to Our Parents

So here’s how I announced that I was expecting to Daniel. Of course, he kind of knew that I could be pregnant, because we were trying to conceive, so he wasn’t so so surprised, but my parent on the other hand were shocked :-)My dad will turn 60 years old in June 17th, and it’s a big celebration in our culture, so we were planning to go to Tashkent in summer, but since I’m pregnant and due in August, we had to cancel. And they were sad about it, but still happy for us 🙂 My mother-in-law was excited, but it took her a while to understand that I was pregnant, I guess she didn’t expect us to get pregnant so quickly. 🙂

Lifestyle, Maternity/Baby

Aaaaand yes, we’re expecting a second baby! It’s really surreal to me, that this is happening even though we really wanted it. We wanted our kids to be close at age, so that they could grow and play together. And another reason is: since we can’t do much with 1 year old right now anyways, meaning we can’t really travel for him to enjoy it, can’t just leave him for couple of days and just have a getaway etc., so while we’re at this phase with the little one, we decided to add one more baby, and then in couple of years when they grow up, we can enjoy all the adventures together as a family vs if we waited couple of more years, and then decided to have a second one, by that time Christian would be like 3 or 4 years old, and he would really want to go places and go out, and we won’t be able to do it as much, because of a newborn. I don’t know if it makes sense for you guys, but it does for us.

Our baby is due on August 17, 2015, Christian will be 22 months old, almost two years. And it’s so perfect.  Continue reading “BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!”

Christian’s First Birthday Party (Photos and Video)

Everything else, Happy Birthday!!!, Maternity/Baby, Photography

Finally collected all the photos from people who attended Christian’s birthday party, and took photos.. We didn’t hire photographer and videographer, because they’re ridiculously expensive here, as I was saying before. I’ll do a separate post about all the supplies and where I got them from… But for now I just want to share couple of photos and video from that day… Continue reading “Christian’s First Birthday Party (Photos and Video)”

Christian’s 1 year Update

U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E … that’s all I can say… It’s been a year… I just..I seriously can’t believe it.. Only a year ago I was pregnant with Christian and then gave birth, and he was so little, and couldn’t do much..and right now look him, he’s walking everywhere and can do so many things.. I really love this time right now, every day he learns something new and he is so smart and so strong..but I really mis that time when I could just hold him and cuddle with him, or lay down with him and just be still…right now it’s possible only for 5 sec or when he’s asleep 🙂 I love him so much..and it’s different kind of love, different from the love you have for your parents, different from the love you have for your spouse..just totally different. And what’s interesting is that it’s the same word, but emotions and feelings are different… Continue reading “Christian’s 1 year Update”

Review: Summer Infant Lil’ Loo Potty

Maternity/Baby, Reviews

Recently I started to potty train Christian (On July 16, to be precise..He was 9 months old). Before that I was looking for different potties, I didn’t want anything fancy.. I just needed a simple potty that won’t slide on the floor and and that will be comfortable for him to sit on. I found this Summer Infant Lil Loo Potty on Amazon, reviews were good and it’s not expensive, so I decided to buy this one.

Description: Lil Loo potty is perfect for your potty training toddler. The stylish, comfortable potty blends with your existing bathroom decor. An easy to remove pot and high splash guard for boys make clean up quick and simple. The high back seat provides additional comfort and support for your little one. Christian’s 8-9 Months Update

On July 15 Christian turned 9 months.. So much happened in these couple of months, that I don’t know where to start… He is so mobile right now and does so many new things… He is growing so quickly, sometimes it makes me sad, because I know that very very soon he won’t be a little baby anymore…

So here’s what he learned in these 2 months since our last update in a chronological order:

  • army crawl (tummy on the floor) (7.5 months)
  • sitting (8 months)
  • turns on/off lights
  • feeding himself finger foods
  • kisses me when I ask him to…and when I don’t ask him to 🙂
  • throwing ball for Bonnie to fetch
  • pulls himself up and stands
  • crawling on his knees and hands
  • repeats some sounds after us

More details are in the video↓:

He also has two bottom teeth that already came out and 2 top teeth are just coming out.. I feel very blessed that his teething doesn’t bother him.. He is not in pain and he acts as usual and sleeps good. About sleeping: he transitioned himself from taking 3 naps a day to 2 naps a day. He sleeps every 3 hours now.
